Hope For Haiti and Help Danita

My posting for the day will be short, since I have some homework to finish.
So I started a diet on February 4th, and have successfully followed it, since then...kind of.
I am not eating super healthy, but am limiting some of my consumption, and not everyday.
Today however, I totally broke it. I ate some chicken salad sandwich cake, some macaroni salad, some chips(not baked), some cake, fruit salad with lots of cool whip, popcorn with butter, and I drank both coke, and a Starbucks Frappuccino.

Sadly, I missed most of the HopeForHaitiNow.org telethon  :(
I was looking forward to it, and to seeing Robert Pattinson speak.
Apparently, his speech was pre-recorded, I saw it online...and he is gorgeous! I love him!
Anyway, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick, Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez were among the people that were answering the phones.
I arrived home like at 8:30, with only half an hour left of the telethon, and saw Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Bono perform. It was a good song!
So if you haven't already donated, I urge you to do so. This is a very sad time in our world, and I can only imagine how hard it must be for the victims of this horrendous tragedy.

I also came upon this organization called helpdanita.org which is a Christian organization in Haiti that aids children in need. They have just taken in several hundred displaced babies into their camp, and need as much help as they can get, be it monetary, food, clothing, and volunteers. I would really love to go help, but given the circumstances right now, I can't really just get up and leave my home. I still have things to finish in order to be able to take free flight, like graduating...it has been a long time coming, and it's about time I finish that. :)
I must also save money, since you have to pay your way to Haiti, and all of your expenses while there.
Maybe I'd go in a year or so, once the situation seems a little more stable, and once others decide to come back. I can be part of the third or fourth fleet of people that will go to continue to aid Haitians once the upheaval of the quake has diminished a little.

I am glad that more and more people are stepping up to the plate, and that the world is uniting as one, in order to come to the aid of those who need it most at this time. I think that this is a time to reflect upon our own lives and realize that what really matters is that we have God in our hearts, and have accepted him as our Lord and Savior, and all else should come after.
I am very thankful for my family's safety, and for our well-being, since this life is fleeting, and we never know what could happen.

I will be posting links to the aforementioned websites so that you can donate to the Haitian Relief efforts, if you haven't already.

Have a great weekend!

Ramblings of the week.

Hi everyone!
I have been busy this week as I am trying to keep up with some of the New Year's Resolutions I set for myself.
I FINALLY started working out!!! YAY ME!!! It had been a while, and I am happy because I can still do a minimum of 30 minutes on the elliptical at home without passing out.
I also started eating a little better this week, I am charting all of my workouts and food consumption on Excel, and it's going well.  Next week I am going to start incorporating Pilates into my workouts, and I think I'm going to detox as well...just for a week...or however long I can last. We will see how THAT goes. :)

On the education forefront, I am registering for my last two classes in order to graduate, and I'm desperately looking for a job. I have faith I will find something by before the end of the month...it's been so long since I last had a job, and I feel like a free-loading bum here at home, since I have been taking my classes online, and have nothing else to really do. I think my parents will kick me out soon...haha..jk(I hope)...

I have dubbed 2010 "The Year of CHANGE."
I know Obama already used the CHANGE slogan in 2008, but this is for my personal use, so it is not the same.
I am confident that this is my year of life-altering decisions, and I'm excited about the influx of determination the ringing in of this year seems to have bestowed upon me!!! I hope that by the end of the year I have a set plan of what I intend to do with my life...since right now I don't really have a clue as to what that entails. For now, I am enjoying spending time with my family and friends, and enjoying being at home as much as I can, since I know that being here THIS long will probably never happen again, once my life takes a clearer direction, but who knows, maybe it will.

ANYWAY, I dyed my hair purple...well maroon-ish...it kind of looks like brown-maroon actually...and I LOVE IT! I had been sporting highlights for half a year already, and my hair was crying out for me to go darker, as it tends to do at different intervals throughout the year (usually every 6 months). Length-wise I'm going for long locks this year...I always end up with shoulder-length hair, so I am changing that too.

MOVIES: I saw Leap Year today and I loved it! I want to go to Ireland and meet my dream man too!!! haha...but then again, I also want to go to the UK because I think that my dream guy might be there, fabulous British accent included. Then again Robert Pattinson AND Ed Westwick are already in the US, in which case I would only have to travel as far as Los Angeles or New York in order to accomplish my mission!!! lol. All in all, Leap Year was adorable and it was fun seeing it with my 2 fantastic sisters and brother-in-law(who was forced to go with us...lol).

The weather here is at its coldest...and of course, I LOVE IT. I am fond of any weather that allows me to wear coats, boots, scarves, and gloves...like I need an excuse anyway, I LIVE IN SCARVES.

Well, off to deep, deep slumber I go. Guten nacht everyone and ttyl!
